i am trying to expose my 3 1/2 yr old to the arts & this would be a great way. he enjoys reading about kids that have mood changes just like him.
I love this story because it helps us keep things in perspective around here! My oldest son has a health condidion that requires medications and therapies that often make him feel grumbly! Sometimes it helps to just complain but know that everyone, everywhere has bad days.
I think this would be a great bonding opportunity for my wife, who’s an elementary teacher that has taught this book, and my daughter that loves plays! My daughter always enjoys getting out of the house and seeing kid plays whenever we can find an appropriate one. Thanks.
I think my daughter would enjoy the show because she has read the book and thinks it’s pretty funny. I don’t remember a part she liked the best but I know she really enjoyed the book and she even read another Alexander book because of it.
We visit the Coterie as a family every year and are always impressed with the performances, but this particular title is one I can totally relate to! Love the book and can’t wait to see it on stage!
I really want to see this for myself. While the kids and I were at Crown Center on Sunday they saw the poster for this play. My oldest said mom is that based on a book, I told her yes. She said well I want to read it then could we see the play? I said we will see, money is tight right now and she said ok. So I would love for her to see it! Thanks!
My daughter has a love of reading and Alexander was one of the more recent books she read. I haven’t been to the Coterie since I took some students several years ago (before I had children) and would love to take them to this show!
LUCKY #7 WINS. Thanks for all the entries.
CONGRATS Melissa W. ENJOY the show and Happy Thanksgiving!
A fantastic book to be turned into a musical! I read the book as a kid, and both of my kids have read it MANY, MANY times. It’s always good for a laugh, and to help you remember that tomorrow is another day!
I thought this book is too scary for my two year old, but when we were visiting friends who had the book, she wanted it read to her again and again!
My daughter thinks this book is great. I loved the Coterie as a kid and I am excited to share it with my kids. My daughter is finally old enough!
My 9 year old is Bi Polar and often compares her days to this story…lol. I have a 4 year old as well and she loves the story because the pics grab her attention.
Both of my daughters adore this book, and would love to see the musical. They like to see who can say the title fastest (correctly and in order!!) We’ve been to one other production at The Coterie and were really impressed.
My oldest daughter has been begging me to take her to see this but we just don’t have the extra money. She LOVES this book (it was a favorite of mine when I was a kid too!) and she is learning to read now in Kindergarten and is, of course, trying to read this book every day. She is also a very musical child, has been since she was in the womb, so I think she would really enjoy this!
My daughter and son love the book and I think they would enjoy the play.
This was one of my daughter’s favorite books growing up. I would love to take her and her two children to see it!
My son is 7 years old now and I think he would totally get it. He has an artist’s soul and I need to feed it!
My five year old loved the book and we enjoy visiting Crown Center as a family, especially during the holidays!
My kids would absolutely love this. Growing up in a small town, I wasn’t exposed to a lot cultural opportunities, and I really love seeing how my kids respond on the few chances I’ve been able to take them. They have just loved them and I know they would love this story, as we all have bad days.
I have been reading this book to my two kids since they were infants. I think it would be a really fun, family activity to do together.
This is one of the books we read when both the kids and I are frustrated. It helps us all to calm down and remember that everyone has mood swings and that even though one thing goes wrong we can still accomplish lots of things its all in our attitudes.
