Meet Joanie Whitman:

Joanie Whitman married her best friend seven years ago and is now the mother of two wonderful boys and a baby girl. For her, having a baby is far and away the single most important thing she’s ever done. Because of Joanie’s passion for children and wanting to help expecting parents ease their stress, becoming a baby planner was a natural fit. Her best piece of advice for parents is to trust your instincts and don’t believe just anything you hear even it comes from a specialist – you should check and recheck! Joanie also believes that each phase of a child’s life is fleeting so enjoy both the good and the not-so-good while you can.

For four years prior to becoming a baby planner, Joanie has been working as Special Projects Manager for The Soft Landing, where she has gained extensive knowledge about the chemicals we are unknowingly exposed to everyday. With that came her mission to help other parents understand what to worry about and what to leave for another day.

Joanie is passionate about empowering moms to take back the pregnancy and birthing experience. She delivered her first baby in a hospital with pain medications, but chose natural birth in a local birthing center after that and has decided there is no going back!

Joanie is co-founder of Itsabelly KC, the first baby planning service of its kind in Kansas City. She has attained her Home Hazard Test, Child Passenger Seat Technician and the Happiest Baby on the Block Certifications. Joanie is also founder of the Itsababy Boutique, which offers the best of Itsabelly approved and recommended products for mama and baby.
